Don't know but that was one of the only real concerns I had. But like you say, even 5 years is better than as of late, haha. I'd say he could stay for a good while, hopefully anyway, assuming all goes well.

Was he given the extra money he wanted? Will the players, parents, and boosters get over the fact that Saterfield (sp?) wasn't hired?

there's always some underlying things going on, who knows. fact is, palko got hired and i believe that satterfield will be an assistant. as far as vaughn, that dude has some issues that need to be resolved somewhere else. seems to be passionate about football though, lol. congrats coach palko

If there is one thing that has always been consistent with Lee County football, it is the fact that the head coaching position has always been like a "political appointment" In other words, how long can he hold on to his job and resist the pressure from the people to play their son because of political stature instead of playing the kid who actually is better.

Its the game played all around this region. Others survive it every year (see some other sports, and see past football history).

This guy looks like he could be a good coach for Lee.

Funny you should say that about Vaugh because people on the CMD board are acting like he is some coaching guru. I know one thing: I have never seen someone campaigne for a job on the internet and land it.

I don't think I've seen that, especially with having not even stepped foot into yet, but most of us thought (not so sure myself now after reading more and thinking some things over) that he would've been a good asset to the program. He came on and gave some info about himself, which we had asked about.

A website is no place to promote yourself for a job. People at the other board were absolutely appalled he was not given the job after all the stuff he posted about his modular offense. Anyone can spew crap about how great they are. I just did not feel that anyone on there had seen him coach, but were taking him at his word. I just wondered what the difference was when I saw someone question that over here. I would not include you as one of those fawning over him but there were some. I know you post over on some of the EKY boards. Does he not remind you Mt. Warrios who was always on one of those boards tooting his own horn after taking a job at Estil Co. last year only to resign two or three weeks later. MT. Warrior talked himself up like he was the second coming. People on that site bought right in hook line and sinker when he applied for the M'boro job.
